How to follow Google Alerts in RSS
Google Alerts can deliver to a feed instead of your inbox. Create the alert, choose RSS, and read it in any reader.
Google Alerts watches the web for a query and delivers matches by email, or to a feed if you choose. The feed works in any reader.
- Open google.com/alerts and sign in
- Type your query and click Show options
- Set Deliver to to RSS feed and click Create Alert
- Click the RSS icon next to your alert and copy the address
If Deliver to is grayed out, open the gear icon and turn Digest off. Feeds need the As-it-happens frequency.
Show options narrows the matches, with sources, language, and region, plus a How many choice of all results or only the best. Sources left on Automatic watch the whole web. For news only, Google News has feeds of its own.
To follow the alert, paste its address into Discover and Glanced subscribes right away. The feed address works in any other reader too.
