How to use MCP with RSS
Connect an AI assistant to your RSS library through MCP. Glanced exposes your feeds, articles, and saves to any MCP client.
MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is the standard AI assistants use to connect to other software. An assistant that speaks it can add an app’s tools to the conversation.
For a feed reader that means asking what’s new and getting an answer from your library, not a web search.
In Glanced
Glanced runs an MCP server, and connecting it takes an API key and a URL.
- Open Automation in the sidebar, go to API Keys, and click Create API key
- Copy the key when it appears
- In your assistant’s MCP settings, add a server at
api.glanced.io/mcpwith the key as its Bearer token
Then ask what’s new, or whether anything’s worth reading. The assistant can act on the answers, saving, tagging, marking read, or subscribing to new feeds.
The full tool list and client-specific setup notes live in the MCP docs.
